Charlotte’s Photo Diary: Scenes from Los Angeles

Sometimes Twitter speaks louder than words—especially when those Tweets have pics (because, as they say,  a picture is worth 1,000 words). In any case these pics that Charlotte took during her trip to LA for the I Heart Ronson party last week say a lot. Here are a few that document her travels and fun times.

Sound Style: Vanessa Paradis

Since the early 90′s musician Vanessa Paradis has been a style inspiration of mine. She brings a timeless elegance to whatever she’s wearing—no matter how simple or trendy.

Many recognize Vanessa as Karl Lagerfeld’s muse—appearing in Chanel advertisements, and in fashion editorials shot by the designer—or on the arm of Johnny Depp, as his longtime partner. But on top of modeling and her high-profile relationship, Vanessa is actually an accomplished actress and musician. In 1987, when she was just 14, Vanessa had a #1 hit record  in France and the UK with “Joe le taxi.” She has recorded ten albums, the latest being 2010′s Une nuit Ă  Versailles, and has appeared in several films, most famously “Noce Blanche”, for which she won the 1990 CĂ©sar Award for Most Promising Actress.

She’s wonderful to watch live, and whether she’s on stage, or in a fashion editorial, Paradis always adds her own bit of whimsy and poise to her look.

Partying at the Mondrian For Kidada’s New Disney Collection

Last night at the Mondrian SoHo my friend Kidada Jones celebrated the launch of her line of clothing and accessories for the Disney Store. The collection she designed is a mix of apparel, jewelry, a limited-edition Vinylmation figure, and Wish-a-Littles—mini Disney Princesses that come with necklaces hidden inside. The Penthouse at the Mondrian was decorated in bright pink, and was filled with cupcakes, macarons, donuts, and other sweets. Naomi Campbell, Pharrell Williams, and Olivia Munn all came to support Kidada, and it was nice to share the Disney release with our families. Kidada’s father, Quincy, sister Rashida, and mom Peggy Lipton flew in, and Naomi brought her own mother. My sister Samantha DJed, and I hung out with my parents and family friends all night. It was a great way to celebrate Kidada’s fun and thoughtful take on Cinderella, Snow White, Tiana, and Sleeping Beauty.
