I have only had the joy of visiting Japan once. It was a quick 10-day trip to Tokyo with my sisters Charlotte and Samantha. I love Tokyo (I can only speak for Tokyo because I didn’t have the opportunity to travel outside the city). To me it seemed like all the wonderful things I might imagine Mars to be like—plainly, I mean futuristic—yet it is grounded by the very strong presence of ancient culture. This dichotomy is what I like most about the city, other than Kiddy Land and karaoke, of course!
We have all been thinking a great deal about Japan as of late, and in turn, what the tragic events of the past month reflect about our future as a whole. When disaster strikes, both natural and unnatural, one must not forget that, although these events take place at such a far distance, there is still much one can do to help at home. Charlotte Ronson and friends are doing their own small part by holding a sample sale at the Charlotte Ronson offices from April 13th through the 15th, and all of proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Japan Society’s Japan Earthquake Relief Fund. Please come and support.
